I enjoyed speaking with all of you who attended Parent-Teacher Conferences today and last night. Thank you for taking the time to speak with me about your child's progress.

As I mentioned to most of you, I will be away the week following Spring Break. Mrs. Coleen Wenc will be covering for me for the four days. The children have had Mrs. Wenc as a substitute teacher before.  She is a very familiar face in our school. She has been substitute teaching at MTS for at least 13 years. I told the students yesterday that I will be away and that I will see them again in two weeks.

This week, we had a visit from Firefighter Rebekah from the Chestermere Fire Department. Her daughter was a student of mine last year. She brought in some of her equipment to show the kids and answered the many questions they had about being a firefighter. She also had photos to show them from Firefighter Training. Rebekah explained that she eats, sleeps, and works out at the station (to stay strong) while on her 24 hour shifts. She told the kids that she was excited to be driving the big ladder truck on her next shift following her visit. Here are some photos:

Please remember to encourage your child to dress western on Monday, March 30th for the MTS Pancake Breakfast. The children should eat a regular breakfast before coming to school, however, as we do not know when each class will get their food.

I hope you all enjoy a wonderful Spring Break! :)
